Linux version testing

We are releasing a test version of Ace miner for Ubuntu tested on Ubuntu 18. You can try this version if you want to mine on 1060 6gb cards but the miner does not start on windows 10 because only 5.3 Gb memory is available.

This binary is for ubuntu 18 and might not work on other linux versions.

P0 Power State

You can get some extra hashrate out of your Nvidia GPU when mining Grin by forcing the GPU to work in P0 state (the highest power state) instead of staying at maximum P2. Here is a quick guide.

Download NVidiaProfileInspector. https://github.com/DeadManWalkingTO/NVidiaProfileInspectorDmW/releases
Run as administrator
In section 5- Common set “CUDA – Force P2 State” to “OFF”.

Optional: set “Power management mode” to “Prefer maximum performance”

Apply changes in the top right corner
Run Ace Grin Miner normally and check performance

Quick Launch Guide:

Update drivers: Nvidia just use the latest, AMD we recommend 18.6.1 adrenaline drivers
Download and install 2.2.1 .NET Core libraries Note: restart required
Set virtual memory to 40-56GB (about 7gb per GPU)
Run start.bat and input your pool data. We recommend the following pools: grinmint.com sparkpool.com
Optional: Input failover pool details manually into the created config.xml under <SecondaryConnection> similar to <PrimaryConnection>
Run start.bat to begin mining

Adding failover pool to config.xml

At first launch aceminer autodetects GPU settings and prompts for pool account settings.

These settings are in config.xml in the aceminer folder.

Edit config.xml in notepad:

Pool settings is in <PrimaryConnection> group:

<ConnectionAddress> pool address

<ConnectionPort> stratum port

<Ssl> (true or false) – enable or disable encrypted pool connection (must be supported by pool)

<Login> your pool login

<Password> pool password. Note for f2pool cannot be blank

<SecondaryConnection> is a failover pool details group which is unfilled

Fill your secondary pool details manually to enable failover pool.

Save changes and close notepad.

Run start.bat to continue mining.
